About

Adrian is a self-taught marine/landscape artist who paints mainly in oil and watercolour but occasionally dabbles in pen, ink and scraperboard. He lives in Fife, Scotland with a studio overlooking the River Forth and the Pentland Hills beyond.

The inspiration for his paintings mainly comes from places he has visited and the sea, sky, lakes and rivers often feature in his work. More recently he has also enjoyed figurative painting, capturing folk – particularly children - having fun. He paints in a realist style and enjoys the challenge of creating an image that captures the mood and light of the original scene.

He is a former winner of the Racal Armed Forces Art Award and his work has twice been reproduced by the Royal Navy in their calendar. More recently his work has been commended in the Shell Awards at the annual Fife Art Exhibition.

Exhibitions he has contributed to in the last ten years include open exhibitions of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour, an on-line exhibition of the Aberdeen Artists Society, Pittenweem and Aberdour Arts Festivals, the Festival Theatre Pitlochry, the Wade Gallery Summer exhibition, the Dunkeld Art Exhibition, the Fife Art Exhibition and Dalgety Bay Art Club. He is also a member of the Central Fife Artists' Collective and has participated in Open Studios.
